"Nguashi N'Timbo made his debut in Lubumbashi in the Baba Gaston Band and was with them for many years. Songs associated with him from that time are "Manguta-Elongi ya Cherie," "Nzanzi," and "Bolingo ya sens unique." Arriving in Kinshasa he started Orchestre Sentima and sang alongside Sam Mangwana, notably on "Tangua." By 1977 he was releasing songs in Nairobi with his Orchestre Festival du Zaire, which also featured Kadima, Zele Kabamba and Starzo ya Estha. But from 1979 to 1981 he is listed as a vocalist in OK Jazz (they toured East Africa then) and recorded "Zala Serieuse" and "Lembi" with them. His self-titled album NGWASHI N'TIMBO (released by Musicanova in Brussels) anthologizes some of his work with OK Jazz & Orchestre Sentima. Festival du Zaire's 1981 "Shauri Yako (It's your problem)" was a massive hit & was covered by Super Mazembe as well as Rochereau & Mbilia Bel. In 1982 Ntimbo was in Kinshasa where he recorded MBOYO, OSALA NGAI NINI with members of OK Jazz, including Ntesa Dalienst and Madilu." thx for that great album
'ýlowek scavel-cronek' is Cornish for 'musical mushroom'
on this blog i hope to bring you stuff you cannae get in the shops - random vinyl, mixes off the radio, concerts off the tv ..... enjoy!
some of my early vinyl rips were quiet or badly processed - if any need to be reripped, please leave a comment on that post & i may sort it at some point! (i am extrememly busy though with a newborn baby (edit... he's a rampaging toddler now!) .... i no longer use any 'noise removal' nonsense!! ................... i am still learning, so any help is appreciated ;)
edit... new vinyl rip are done with Nero Soundtrax ... much better program than Audacity i reckons, & the sound is much much much better & louder!
...if any files are dead, please leave a note in the comment of that post & i'll try & maybe sort it out at some point
...music is here for evaluation purposes, & to introduce people to stuff they haven't experienced before ... i buy shitloads of music & i strongly encourage all visitors to go out to charity shops, boot sales, etc, & buy stuff! ...if you don't want your stuff posted here, please leave a comment on the relevant post & i'll sort it ...cheers & peace ;)
