Essence Underwater
How are you all doing today? Most of us Dutchies have the day off tomorrow because of Queensday, but still I'm in a hurry! No time to lose, on to Essence Underwater - One of Essences new colors that the lovely Michèle picked up for me when she was at DM in Germany.
Essence Underwater, three coats in daylight. Underwater is a very bright, though not neon, blue frost. You can see the frostiness in the first picture, while the second is more color accurate. Application on this one was fine, no big deals! I was a bit scared of blue colored nails afterwards, but thankfully I didn't have the slightest staining.
Happy Queensday tomorrow all! Don't go out and celebrate too much ;)

Party Dresses
For the party gurus, the above may not be so daunting. But for the average person, especially one who rarely attends parties, it could be a formidable task. However, this needn't be so; selecting a suitable party dress can be as much fun as actually wearing it.
As human beings, we all possess an innate desire to be appreciated. This cuts across all spheres and the fashion scene is not excluded. Want to look fabulous and attractive for that party? Here are some tips and guidelines in selecting the right party dress.
The first thing you need to consider is: what kind of party is the dress for? There are numerous types of parties; thus, it is important that you know what category the one you are planning to attend falls into. This is essential in determining what type of dress will fit in. you need to know if it's a casual event, a formal, or semi-formal one, because it would be an unpardonable blunder to turn up in an inappropriate party dress.
After determining what type of occasion it is, you can now go on to decide what dress to wear. There is a variation in the accepted practice from place to place, so you'd do well to know the norm in your location. Here are a few examples to serve as a guide:
Formal events
This usually requires a tuxedo for men, with a tie (black, white or optional depending on the party), and a cocktail party dress or an evening or short dress for women.
Semi-formal events
This means that a tux is not required for him, nor a long dress for her. However, the man will still need a dark suit and the woman, a cocktail dress for an evening wedding. In the daytime, this means a suit for the man and an appropriate dressy suit or short dress for the woman.
Casual events
This generally implies that anything is acceptable but be sure to look trendy!
The next step is choosing your party dress. The secret is to select a dress that will accentuate your figure in the best way. Go for the perfect fit! Also ensure that your accessories match your dress-no purple party dress with a red bag please!
On a final note, selecting an appropriate party dress should not be rushed, so plan in advance.

Vintage Wedding Dresses
instead of spending hours fighting with other equally frustrated brides over wedding dresses in designer stores and bridal boutiques, why not take the easy route by going for something a little more unique-a vintage wedding dress perhaps?
Think about it: no more tug-of-wars with other brides when you find a particularly nice gown. No more hours of waiting just so you can fit a wedding dress. With the vintage wedding dress, you have less competition and less hassle.
What Is It?
As tradition would have it, wedding dresses used to be handed down from generation to generation. In a way, you can consider the wedding garb passed from bride to bride as "vintage".
Today, most brides buy their own wedding dresses instead of opting for their mother's or grandmother's dress. There's more to "vintage" than simply being "old". When buying a vintage wedding dress, learn the lingo.
In the world of wedding dresses, there's a small difference between an antique dress and a vintage dress. When you say antique wedding dress, you're referring to a dress that was made in the 1920s or earlier. While the vintage wedding dress, on the other hand, refers to a dress that was created at least 25 years ago.
Why We Love It
Now that we're done with terminology and proper usage of "vintage" and "antique", we can now tackle the reasons why we love these old wedding dresses. These days, it's not uncommon for you to find Hollywood A-listers wearing vintage gowns during red carpet events. It seems as if the "old" has just made a timely and amazingly successful comeback fit to eclipse the "new".
What's fabulous about getting a vintage wedding dress is that you can choose between numerous dress styles. Vintage wedding dresses span decades of ebbing and flowing fashion trends. You can choose between a Victorian dress and a lovely vintage sheath dress, knowing that whichever style you choose, you're going vintage.
You simply have to find the era that flatters your figure best and appeals to you the most, and you've got the right vintage wedding dress style for you.
It's the perfect wedding dress choice if you're going for a historical themed wedding, or if you're looking to add some drama to your wedding ceremony. If you have the budget, you can even choose a historical palace or location as your wedding venue, easily transporting you and your guests to some forgotten era.
Aside from their aesthetic and historical appeal, vintage wedding dresses also show off the extraordinary and fabulous craftsmanship and detailing used by dressmakers from decades ago. Most of the vintage dresses you'll find these days are also free from carbon copies and replicas, so you can be sure that no other modern bride has the exact same dress that you have.
If you're a big fan of stunning embroidery, luxurious fabrics and wonderful hand-sewn beading, then the vintage wedding dress is for you.

Orly Lemonade
I just realized I haven't written a post about Orly Lemonade alone! Whoops.. Well, here it is :)
Orly Lemonade, three coats in daylight. Lemonade is a pretty pastel yellow creme, a little more yellow irl. Pastels tend to be streaky at first and this one was no exception, but all evened out in three coats.
Orly Lemonade, three coats in the shade. The color is more accurate in this picture since it isn't as washed out. I'm really starting to like pastel yellow polishes, they sure as hell are growing on me!
Application was good. I like the Orly brush; it's not as big as the OPI ProWide brush but it's easy to work with. Drying time was good.
And because I like it so much, here's my sugar sweet summery mani again:

The Beauty and Latest of 3D Nail Art
I visit different nail salons here in my place to see which has the best service. I am quite meticulous in regards to how they deliver and most especially the quality of the service. Because I consider myself as a very fashionable person and I would like to keep up with the trend, I can say that keeping a lifestyle like this needs careful investigation. Although I am not that fussy about perfect detail, I just like to make sure that I feel and look good.
Nowadays, I am fond of Vancouver 3D nails. I like how it looks because they are pretty and they give much personality. It's like they have their own statement of who I am so they need to keep up with my expectations.
These designs are like a window to my being. I like to dress up differently almost everyday according to the needs of parties or events, latest fashion trends and mood. These designs enable me to emphasize what look I am trying to portray. Like when I am in the mood to wear gothic clothes then a design with skulls or black flame would be appropriate. The same goes when a get-together needs me to wear a particular costume or get-up then I have to match the needs of that outfit with my nails. So, I visit different Vancouver nail salon in search for the best designs that show my personality.
Compared to color nail polish and regular Vancouver manicure and pedicure, the creativity of this art is just special. There is limitation to the conventional nail polish. Although it can be mixed with other colors making artistic drawings or art designs on the nail, Vancouver 3D nails emphasize the beauty of fine art and serve as an extension of my imagination. And being a 3-dimensional design, the materials used protrude from the nail; they pop out, unlike the usual color nail polish.
The things utilized in designing the nails are small 3D objects made from sculpture powder that has been molded to the desired figure. Also, some of the bits used are 3D stickers like the ones found in scrapbooks although these are customized to fit the nail. Small gems and crystals are also used to add that luxurious look. After being airbrushed with paint, the acrylic nail chips become the slate wherein these objects are attached then voila! A fashion statement has been made customized according to my imagination, of course.
I like having them and showing them off to my friends because they make me feel attractive, fashionable, and artistic. So whenever a party comes, after I have done my hair and make-up, I go down to the nearest nail salon to fix up. After getting a Vancouver manicure, I head to the artists that handle the designs and rig up my beautiful nails with fashion motivated art.

Cocktail Dresses - What Style Suits You
Cocktail dresses or cocktail gowns were worn by females at cocktail parties. Whatever your outfit, make it dressy and elegant, although not too formal. Sophisticated, classic and tasteful, a stylish cocktail dress is certainly a must-have item for any woman's cabinet. Cocktail dresses have got their very own allure and each woman should highlight her girly charm in the perfect way. A typical cocktail dress is ideal for both formal and casual functions. Cocktail dresses or gowns can be purchased in an array of shapes, gorgeous materials, with silk, satin, and layered or simply chiffon still remaining the best choice. Each season brings plenty of surprise with brand new additions. The length may vary from a mini length to above the ankles. The 'little black dress' hasn't lost its allure with the verse of time and continues to remain the globally accepted look for cocktail events. Multi-colored cocktail dresses in abundant fabrics like velvet, crepe, brocade or silk or stretch satin or even rich tapestries translate nicely for formal or informal events. Short or long, any color, any design, fabrics in tune with the season, it's your specific preference that should be the deciding element.
Choosing the right cocktail dresses may feel like an incredibly challenging job. Designers are often coming up with great gown and with so many options. You could discover several easy to follow and down to earth methods to discover an ideal designer cocktail dress and have a lovely entrance at the approaching cocktail party. Choose at least two or three designers that you simply really feel their cocktail gowns will look fantastic on you. Faviana Style: 6462 is a short chiffon cocktail dress having beaded straps and keyhole back. It is made in white, black/silver, garnet, and plum. La Femme Style: 14612 is a good cocktail dress. This one shoulder dress features flowers on the strap that goes on over the shoulder to create a perfect back. Material gathers on entire dress and consists of a form fitting yet comfy gentle stretch knit fabric. It's available in colors black and white. It is always good to get a modern look and something classic that will actually last throughout the years. Obtain a dress suitable for your body size and type yet still communicate a sex attractiveness and aura.
Cocktail dresses are must haves for all ladies. This kind of dresses will come in invaluable when you finally receive an invite to a black tie party, wedding, a gala or company celebrations. Make sure you stylize, flaunt your gold, silver or diamond charm bracelet or your favorite pair of dangling earrings. Selecting suitable fashion accessories for cocktail dresses is likewise important. Take special care in choosing shoes in case you are donning a shorter length, as it invariably assumes an important focus. A beaded cocktail tote made from silk, satin or brocade together with pearls, diamond-looks, gold or even silver, a sparkly vintage brooch, fishnet hosiery are extremely convenient choices.
Search online at luxury shops for sales and special deals on fantastic designer labels, but make certain that there's a quality return plan just in case the outfits doesn't suit. Make certain that any gown you choose you can find shoes and bag to match. Even the most basic of dresses could be spiced up with the right accessories.

Best Nail Varnish with Colour
Well, alright, so I'm not entirely serious, but nail varnish does have some point beyond making nails look pretty. Many nail varnishes also contain substances that will protect your nails, by stopping them from breaking and making them taste nasty so you don't bite them. Some even claim to make your nails grow faster.
Here's a quick science lesson: the most important ingredient of modern nail polish is a substance called nitrocellulose. This clever little ingredient is what forms the 'film' over the top of the nails, protecting them and making them shiny. The nitrocellulose will be mixed with a few other chemicals (solvents, for example, that make it a liquid that can set) depending on the brand, and then with dyes in various strengths and combinations to give the full range of colours to choose from.
Nail varnish comes in all sorts of colours, but the most popular by far is red, followed by pink. While some men do occasionally wear nail varnish, it's mostly a woman thing.
When you buy nail varnish, there are several things you should look for. The one that most people think of straight away is the colour, but be careful of just picking up the first one you see that comes in the colour you want - you might be ignoring its downsides. You should look for an easy applicator bottle that comes with a built-in brush in a good shape, and is quick drying and long lasting.

MAC Venomous Villains Nail Lacquers
I spent quite a lot of money on this collection. Being that I absolutely love Disney, and of course MAC. Them collaborating is like me having a dream come true! Below is everything that I bought from the collection. I do not regret spending money on these because I love the colors and everything. My wallet wasn't happy though, but that's OK xD
Formidable is a plum-ish base with blue and pink flecks of shimmer. Yes very similar to Orly's Galaxy Girl
Mean & Green is a brownish green base with purple and golden shimmer. And yes very similar to Orly's Space Cadet
Bad Fairy is a red shimmer with hints of gold and orangey shimmer
As you can see, Bad Fairy is the only one worth buying since Formidable and Mean & Green have dupes. What I wished they did was slap on Maleficient's picture on the polish bottle like they did with the Hello Kitty's. That would've made the polish more special and unique. They were all under three coats and application was pretty good. Had no problems.

The Next Best Thing To My Private Jet?
Today I have one of the polishes for you that is said to be a dupe/replacement of OPI's My Private Jet. I'm talking about the brown holo version. I don't own MPJ myself, so if you have it, please let me know if it comes close to the polish I'm about to show you.
The polish I'm talking about is Diamond Cosmetics Chainmail Charm. I bought this one when I didn't even like holo's and I didn't understand all the fuss about holographic polishes. I started to like them more and more, so when the sun came out, so did this polish out of my helmer!
Diamond Cosmetics Chainmail Charm, three coats in daylight/sunlight. The first picture is taken without direct (sun)light hitting the nail, so you can see the color of the polish itself without the holograpic effect. Chainmail Charm is a brown based holographic polish, that is a bit shy in soft daylight but shines in full sun. It was quite hard to capture all the holo and I have to say that I couldn't capture it all, so please note that Chainmail Charm is more holographic than shown in my pics.
Application on this one was fine, I had no problems. Drying time was good. The polish dries glossy and relatively smooth.
After taking those pics (and like a gazillion others), I went outside to take pics in full sun.
Ain't that cute? One of our cats came to check out my nail polish - and camera, obviously. Normally she stays away from my nails because she finds it smelly, but not this time :)
What do you think of Diamond Cosmetics Chainmail Charm? Do you think it comes close to OPI's My Private Jet? Let me know, I want to find out!

Nfu Oh 125
Another quickie from me today; I went to look for a car and it turned out to be a beauty! So I'll have a new car (to me, that is) somewhere next week. It took up most of my evening, so I don't have much time to write a lenghty post.
Ik heb Nfu Oh 125 een tijdje geleden gekocht, maar ik had haar nog niet geprobeerd - to nu. Ontmoet de mossige Nfu Oh 125:
I bought Nfu Oh 125 a while ago, but haven't tried her on till now. Meet the mossy goodness of Nfu Oh 125:
Nfu Oh 125, drie laagjes in indirect daglicht.
Nfu Oh 125, three coats in indirect daylight. Nfu Oh 125 is a mossy kind of green with a lot of yellow-ish shimmer and entirely unique in my collection. This is three coats for complete opacity, but if you're not going to take pictures of your nails using macro, I'd say you'll be good to go with two coats. Application on this one was good, I really like the brush of the Nfu Oh polishes. I know a lot of you love the OPI Prowide brush, but that brush is just a little to wide for me. This is just perfect.
Application was good, although you have to be careful not to get bubbles or so in the polish. Just roll it between your hands for a few seconds and you will be fine. Drying time was ok, not too long but certainly not very quick.
Ik vind dit wel een mooie kleur! Het is een hele aparte kleur, maar op een goede manier. Wat vind jij van Nfu Oh 125? Vind je dit soort kleuren mooi?
I kinda like this color. It's an odd color, but in a good way. What do you think of Nfu Oh 125? Do you like these mossy kind of colors?

Ulta Forbitten
How is your weekend so far? I know the US girls still have the half sunday ahead, that's why I say so far ;) Today I have a polish for you that came in a RAOK from a lovely lady from the US. We decided to swap a ton of polishes, but my package is still at customs and probably won't be released ever so she sent me a couple of beauties. Thanks Rachel, they're gorgeous!
She sent me the Ulta Glam Goth Set that's only available in the US, and since the colors are gorgeous it's a big hit :D
Ulta Forbitten, two coats in daylight. This polish is ridiculously shiny so it took me a gazillion pics to get the color right in my pics. Forbitten is a gorgeous dark brown, almost black base with tons of bronze and brown shimmer and it's absolutely stunning. This one definately doesn't need any topcoat because it's shiny as hell itself.
I thought this would make a great matte as well, but I was wrong in this case..
Ulta Forbitten, two coats with one coat of Essie Matte About You. It looks flat and dull and none of the shimmer really shows through the matte.. Too bad!
Application was good, although the brush is teeeny tiny. The structure is nice and went on smoothly so I didn't have any issues with this. Drying time was good as well, I was pleasantly surprised!
If you like dark colors and have the chance to get your hands on the Ulta Glam Goth set, get it!!
Thanks for stopping by!
